The Outfit I Put On to Take Care of Me (Before Everyone Else Needs Me)

If you’re a mom, you already know the drill: mornings aren’t slow. They’re not quiet. And they definitely don’t give you time to debate an outfit. That’s why I keep a small rotation of outfits that make me feel good, without needing a second opinion — or a backup plan. This one? It’s a top contender.

But let’s back up.

Because it’s more than just a gym outfit.

Mom Life Is Beautiful. But It’s Also Nonstop.

Between school runs, grocery pickups, text threads with teachers, work, dishes, and the occasional moment of “wait, did I even eat lunch today?” — it’s easy to lose track of yourself.

I say this all the time: being a mom is the best thing that’s ever happened to me. But it’s also the most demanding role I’ve ever had. And I don’t get to clock out. So taking care of myself — my body, my energy, my peace — isn’t a luxury. It’s necessary.

And sometimes? That starts with something as simple as getting dressed in something that fits well and feels good.

Let’s Talk About This Fit (Because It’s

So

 Good)

Here’s the full breakdown of what I wore on Wednesday — my version of “I’m showing up for myself today.”

  • Halara SoCinched Butt-Lifting Leggings – Carbon
These contour everything without cutting in. They’re high-waisted, hold you together, and somehow feel like butter. They don’t move, roll down, or make me feel restricted. 10/10 for busy mornings.
  • Halara Double-Strap Twisted Back Crop Top – Mauve
This is the “oh she looks like she tried” top… even though I didn’t. It has an open back with a twist, flattering neckline, and enough support to function as both a sports bra and a top.
  • Crocs Getaway Strappy Sandals – White
Easy. Comfortable. Lightweight. They slip on fast and somehow make everything look a little cooler. Perfect for errands or preschool pickup when I didn’t make it to the gym but still want to look like I could’ve.
  • BruMate 40oz Tumbler – Lilac Dusk
My emotional support water bottle. It’s pretty, leakproof, and it actually fits in my cupholder. This is the one thing I always bring when I’m out the door in a rush.
  • CLUCI Tan Vegan Leather Side Bag
Holds it all. Crossbody style with a wide strap. Looks expensive but isn’t. I use it daily.

This Outfit Isn’t Just for the Gym

I wore this on a Wednesday and it motivated me to do more than workout…. I did:

  • Drop my kids off at a class + homeschool
  • Run a return
  • GYM
  • Handle a client request
  • Eat lunch standing up
  • Pick up kiddos
  • Edit, edit, edit

Still to do today…. make dinner with the hubby, check on the garden and try to enjoy the night! It’s a busy, I don’t leave my leggings kinda day.

When You Look and Feel THIS Good, You Show Up Differently

I’m not talking about chasing aesthetic or staying on trend. I’m talking about clothes that let you move, breathe, bend down, lift a toddler, or carry six bags of groceries at once. Clothes that remind you you’re still in there — the version of you who feels confident, comfortable, and capable.

This is one of those outfits. And honestly? I need more of that kind of energy in my life.

Have the best day!
